Reminder: No school next Friday, March 30
Please remember that next Friday, March 30, is a student holiday. This day was originally scheduled as an inclement weather makeup day. Because the district has not had to cancel classes for weather this year, it is now a student holiday.

The fifth six-week grading period ends two weeks later, on April 13. The sixth and final six-week grading period begins the following Monday, April 16.
Correction on race web link in yesterday's Northwest News
In the Northwest News email newsletter sent yesterday, an editing error caused the web link to the Texas Motor Speedway race at the top of the email to go to a different advertisement. This advertisement and link can be seen below; you can also click here to access the advertisement's offer.

The O'Reilly Auto Parts 500 NASCAR race takes place Sunday, April 8, at Texas Motor Speedway. The link provides a limited-time offer for two tickets and $20 in Speedway Bucks, starting at $99.

We apologize for the error.

Northwest Reads logo

Northwest ISD elementary schools are welcoming guest readers across the district from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, April 27, as part of Northwest Reads!

Participants will choose from a variety of books to read to pre-kindergarten through fifth-grade students at one of the district's 17 elementary schools. The program provides community members with an opportunity to inspire district students to become lifelong readers.

All volunteers must pass a criminal background check, which can be accessed at www.nisdtx.org/pie and clicking on the "Volunteer Background Check" link. To become a volunteer reader, visit www.nisdtx.org/northwestreads. If you can't make it, consider recommending a family member or friend apply for the opportunity to read to students!
